Saïd Business School’s Egrove Park site at the University of Oxford has improved in-room media services for participants on residential executive education programmes. In-room TVs have been upgraded to a modern integrated system which includes multiple language channels, bespoke venue information and participant laptop input to the screens.

Challenges
With some existing cabling infrastructure over the extensive campus the challenges varied from bringing together diverse inputs to auditing system integrity. Conference scheduling also meant that rooms were often in use, adding another ball to juggle during project implementation.

Technical
The system combined six local input channels with satellite and digital TV feeds to give over 100 total channels. These feeds were collated using a Televes modular system and distributed by Televes Avant head end. In room, the sets are Samsung 26” LCD, offering low power consumption and additional inputs for local laptop connection.
